Metro Launches Special Ticket Passages

The Metro Company successfully developed the voice announcement function, which has been installed to the ticket gates in the Linhexi Station of Metro Line 3. All the exit ticket gates have set up 1-2 special passages for passengers holding special fare tickets, such as stored-value tickets for primary and middle school students, stored-value tickets for senior citizens and free tickets. The ticket gates will automatically prompt passengers for their ticket category when passing the gate with the ticket.

The ticket gates will automatically announce such voices as "stored-value ticket for senior citizens", "free ticket for senior citizens", "Students' Ticket" when these special fare tickets get across the special passages. If a common ticket (e.g. stored-value metro ticket, Yangchengtong, one-way ticket") is used at the special passage, the ticket gate will announce "Please proceed to the common passages". If a special ticket is used at the common passage, the ticket gate will announce "Please proceed to the special passages". There will be no announcements if you use the right ticket at the right passage. In other words, if you hear "Please proceed to …", you might be in the wrong passage.

The voice announcement function is installed to Linhexi Station of Metro Line 3 and Jiangnanxi Station of Metro Line 2 as experimental units. And the announcement system at Jiangnanxi Station is being debugged, while the Linhexi Station has put it into service.
