From August 2007, Guangzhou Metro line 3 will shorten the interval between trains from the present 6.55 minutes to 6 minutes, in order to solve congestion problems at Kecun and Tiyu Xi Lu transfer stations, according to Guangzhou Metro Group.

Metro line 3 has entered its second test phase which is expected to finish before the end of the year. At that time, the metro speed will increase from the current 80kmh to 120 kmh.
