Guangzhou to Solve Parking Problem

Guangzhou is confronting severer problem of parking lots short-supply, with increasing vehicles in the city. 

The ratio of newly-licensed vehicles against new parking spaces reaches as high as 5:1.

Licenses were issued to 36.5 thousand passenger vehicles in Guangzhou, from January to April this year. 

The new public parking spaces, however, are only 23 thousand from 2002 to 2006.

To solve the problem, Guangzhou will add more than 50 thousand parking spaces annually from 2008 to 2010.
