Guangzhou, Most Acid-rain-polluted City in Guangdong

Updated Beijing Time

Source: www.lifeofguangzhou.com

The acid rainfall in Guangzhou is the most serious, with highest frequency and lowest PH value, in Guangdong Province, according to the recent statistics of Guangdong Provincial Environmental Conservation Department.

Nearly 60% of the cities in Guangdong are facing environmental problems caused by acid rain.

The pollutants for Guangzhou’s acid rain comes from not only the city, but also nearby places.

Local authorities are taking approaches against it, such as desulfurization campaign, signing agreements with polluters to reduce pollutant emissions, promoting energy saving and industrial restructuring.
