On May 22, a special English Training Class opened. 60 taxi drivers were earnestly repeating after their teacher such words and sentences as "Hello", "How are you", and "Welcome to Guangzhou".

This free English class aims at improving the unsatisfactory English level of taxi drivers in the taxi industry. The 60 star taxi drivers signed up for this training course will get practical English training closely related to their work in their spare time. They will learn such skills as how to find out customers' needs through English conversations, how to accept taxi reservations, and how to introduce Guangzhou's scenic spots.

Mr. Feng, a taxi driver, said that this kind of English learning really works. The teachers are very skilled and it is easy to master the training contents. As a taxi driver and host of the 2010 Asian Games, he will welcome guests from different countries with his best spiritual outlook and fluent English.
