Foreign Sellers Make Debut at Canton Fair

On Sunday, the first day of the 101st Canton Fair, a total of 39,461 purchasers attended, up by 16.55% on the last fair. Contracts for both export and import were signed. Export contract amounts reached USD 76,801,000, up by 9%, and a company from Guangzhou signed an import house decoration contract worth USD 2,705,000, which is also the first import order of the Canton Fair.

This Canton Fair is the first one combining import and export commodities. Many foreign sellers set up their booths for the very first time. Mr. Solal from France has participated in 35 Canton Fairs and he came to purchase goods before. This time he brought his son to sell their own goods at the fair. They even took champagne to their booth to celebrate their opening. They told the reporter that they hoped they can find a capable agent in China through the fair and open the door to cooperation with Chinese supermarkets.

According to the spokesman of Canton Fair Xu Bing, the Import Exhibition Zone will be enlarged at the next fair and will optimize allocation in order to attract more European and American companies.
