Main Tower Roof of Huangpu Bridge Sealed

At 11:18 a.m. on Februrary 1st, 2007, the main tower of cable-stayed bridge of Guangzhou Pearl River Huangpu Bridge over north river branch, the "No. One Tower in Lingnan (Guangdong and Guangxi) " with a height of 226.14 meters, sealed roof.

The higher a tower is, the much more wind pressue it invites. Therefore, this 80-storey high tower takes several anti-wind measures so as to withstand up to force 12 winds. It is also installed lightning rods.

It is expected that the main tower will hanging the "No. One Bridge in Lingnan" of 705 meters in lenghth and 15,000 tons in wieght with its 88 oblique pulling cables in November this year.

And it will only takes 10 minutes from Huangpu to Panyu after the Huangpu Bridge was completed and was open to traffic next year.
