Updated Beijing Time

Source: Radio Guangdong

More than 100 bicycles have been registered for licenses every day in Guangzhou since the beginning of the year. Now that motorcycles are banned in the city, the figure is 40 times more than in the previous year. And the trend is expected to keep its momentum in the months to come as more than 150,000 residents have been reported returning to bikes for commuting to and from work. Bikes are now competing with public buses as the major transportation modes in the city.
