GZ '07 Flower Market Gate Designs Unveiled

The flower market gate design of ten districts greeting the up coming Lunar New Year (Feb.18) came out yesterday, according to the Industry and Commerce Administration of Guangzhou.

Liwan: Xiguan Custom

The flower market at Liwan District this year continues Xiguan Custom. The gate design will be a graceful Miss Xiguan playing the lute and sitting before a Tang Long Door (Tang Long is a traditional door for guarding against theft in Guangzhou).

Baiyun: Greeting Golden Pigs

Baiyun Mountain and golden pigs are the main elements of the Baiyun District flower market gate. Golden Pigs will bring great prosperity and happiness to households in Chinese tradition.


 
Huangpu: Sailing Ship

A magnificent ship is setting sail at the gate design of Huangpu flower market, which means "Developing Huangpu". 



Tianhe: Most Booths

Tianhe flower market has more booths than any other district. Five ring shapes featuring Tianhe, the "sports district" of Guangzhou.



Panyu: Metro Line 3

The principal part of Panyu flower market gate design is the launching of Guangzhou Metro Line 3.



Haizhu: 10-Meters' High Flower Pigs

The gate of Haizhu flower market is creative. One pig of ten meter's height made of colorful flowers stands high with many little pigs around. They greet and offer good luck with smiles to the citizens.



Yuexiu Xihu Lake: Comic & Animation

Yuexiu Xihu Lake flower market this year set up comic and animation booths for the first time. The gate design combines cartoon styles and traditional Chinese Spring Festival customs.

Luogang: 4 Conjoined Arch Flower Pillars
