The main part of the hydraulic renovation of "Two Channels and One River,” a major flood-controlling project of Guangzhou, was completed recently, as announced in the Guangzhou Hydraulic Development Conference yesterday (January 10).

The water from the Beijiang River, a branch of the Pearl River, will flow through Guangzhou after the whole renovation completes.

The renovation involves Lubao Channel, Xinan Channel and Baini River in western Guangzhou.

The renovation, costing 301 million Yuan (38.6 million USD), is an important component of the Beijiang River Dyke Project against possible floods and of hte Pearl River Waters Management Package.
