Electric Bicycles Banned Today

Beginning from today (Dec 1), electric bicycles running on Guangzhou streets are confiscated by police.

On November 15, the ban on electric bicycles was officially announced. In order to give riders a transition period, no fine was issued to those who violated the rules over the past 15 days.

Beginning next month, however, the police will patrol for electric bicycles in the city and punish violators with fines and confiscation.
