Guangzhou Tea Expo Opens Next Month

The 7th Guangzhou International Tea Culture Expo, a significant event for the tea industry, both at home and abroad, is to be held at Fangcun Tea City, Guangzhou from August 11 -15.

On July 26, the Tea Expo Organizing Committee held a press conference where they stated that over 2,000 categories of tea products will be shown at the Fangcun Tea City, where guests from the Götheborg will join others in a 10,000 person tea tasting event. Tea lovers will be able to enjoy numerous first-class teas, such as Pu-erh Tea, Green Tea, Oolong Tea, Black Tea and Scented Tea. They will also be able to enjoy the remarkable Longfengtuan Wuyi rock-essence Tea from the Wuyi Mountains of Fujian Province; it is understood that this very special tea was much appreciated by the intelligentsia of old, often being used as a betrothal gift.

The Tea Culture Expo is jointly sponsored by the Guangzhou Municipal Government, the China Research Association of International Tea Culture and the China Association of Tea Circulation. Mr. Wu Mengzhao, president of the Guangzhou Association of Tea culture Promotion, explained that more than 600 tea producers brought their excellent tea products to the 4th Guangzhou International Tea Culture Festival, held last year, demonstrating a flourishing future for Chinese tea culture. The bi-annual Guangzhou International Tea Culture Festival and the annual Guangzhou Tea Culture Expo have grown to become national, even international events.
