The Greening of Guangzhou's Bridges

105 bridges and overpasses thrust into Guangzhou's city skyline. A project to beautify them has led to flowerboxes and shrubs lining many of them, like long thin corridors in the sky. A total of 38 kilometers of such greenery make Guangzhou's bridges the most eye-catching in China.

The City Planning and Garden Bureau says work started on Guangzhou's bridges in 2003, based on a similar project in Singapore.
