"King of Nanyue Kingdom": A Drama Made by Cantonese

"King of Nanyue Kingdom", the first historical Cantonese-made drama, is going to perform in Huanghuagang Theatre on June, 17th. Produced by Cultural Bureau of Guangzhou and performed by Guangzhou Drama Group, the drama has been prepared for two years with the cost of 10 million Yuan. The drama presents the historical changes in Nanyue. From the drama, we can have a grasp of the special historical period of Nanyue.

Four recommended points in "King of Nanyue Kingdom"

The first point is the preparation time of the drama. It is the first time for Guangzhou Drama Group to spend two years preparing a drama.

The famous producing team becomes the second recommended point of this drama. It is directed by Wang Xiaodi, head of Guangzhou Drama Group. Playwrights of the drama are Chen Jingsong, director of Guangdong Arts Institute and Jin Jingmai, the author of "Song of Ouyang Hai". It is performed by Zhang Yechuan, who has won the highest award of drama in China "Meihua(plum flower) Award".

The third point is the story about ancestors of Canton closes to local people's life.

The time span is the fourth recommended point. It represents 70 years' history in two hours' time.

The drama highlights the characteristics of South China's culture. Not only can the precious cultural historical moment of Zhao Tuo (the king of Nanyue Kingdom) from his 30th to 106th be seen in this drama, but also the customs and habits of Nanyue natives are presented within the story.
