Guangzhou Will be Tougher than Delhi

It was obvious that Asian Games reference would surface at the felicitation function for the Commonwealth Games medalists. And there was a general consensus among the among the players that climbing the podium at Guangzhou would be tougher than it was at New Delhi.

"The Asiad will be tougher than CWG, but we are prepared well and our boxers should fetch at five medals," said Suranjoy Singh, the gold winner at the CWG.

He was, however, hesitant to name the hue of the medal saying they will put their best foot forward. He did admit that the toughest opposition was going to come from Kazakh and Thai boxers. "But we have trained hard before the CWG and in the few days available between CWG and now."

Nanao Singh, who will be part of the boxing contingent at Guangzhou, was optimistic of putting up a good show. "I have been boxing well and had good sparring sessions at Patiala. After our good performance at CWG, we know, the expectations have soared. We will not disappoint the fans," said the pint-sized pugilist.
