Death Toll Rises to 15 in Bus Overturn in South China

A seriously injured passenger died in hospital Monday, bringing the death toll from a bus accident in south China Saturday to 15, local authority said.

The female passenger died at 3:47 p.m., said a spokesman with Huizhou City of Guangdong Province, where the accident occurred.

The 55-seat bus carrying 57 people, including two 8-year-olds, overturned at noon Saturday in Huizhou after hitting the central barrier. Thirteen people died at the scene and another died later in hospital.

Eight injured people, including two seriously injured, were still in hospital.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
