Chief Prosecutor in South China City Jumps to Death

A chief prosecutor in a city in south China's Guangdong Province jumped to his death Friday, probably because of health anxiety, police said.
Police received a report at about 5:00 a.m. that Liu Xianjin, chief of the Maoming Municipal People's Procuratorate, was found lying beside an apartment building in Zhanjiang City in Guangdong.
Police said an initial investigation showed that Liu committed suicide by jumping from the 8th floor of an apartment building in Chikan District suspectedly because of health anxiety.
Liu served as deputy chief of the Zhanjiang Public Security Bureau between 1993 and 2005.
