Asiad Volunteer Messengers Travel to Shenzhen in Convoy

According to Yangcheng Evening News, 2,010 Guangzhou citizens set off this morning to neighbouring city Shenzhen in a convoy of 1,000 cars as Asian Games volunteer messengers. The journey started at Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Centre and ended at Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town.

The Guangzhou Asian Games Volunteer Messengers campaign was launched by the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee and GZL International Travel Service Ltd. on June 30, coinciding with the 500-day countdown to the Games, which will kick off on November 12, 2010.

While the first batch of Asian Games volunteer messengers have visited Malaysia, today's trip to Shenzhen marked the beginning of their tour around China.
