During the 2009 Business Fair for the Hong Kong-Guangdong Economic, Technology and Trade Cooperation held June 23rd through to the 25th, Dongguan signed agreements with 82 foreign-funded projects with the value of the contracts totaling just short of US1 million. Nine projects focused in the tertiary section were signed. The contract utilized foreign capital totaling US$38.13 million.

The fair is jointly sponsored by the People's Government of Guangdong Province and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
