Taxi Drivers on Strike in eastern Guangdong

Over 1,000 taxis went on strike and street demonstration in Shantou, eastern Guangdong on November 20, protesting the illegal business operation of those cars with fake licenses and number plates.

Local police have been blocking the way and traffic towards the city hall and major squares, and garrison before the city hall.

The illegal cars amount to about 20% of local taxi business.

The strike was still on until 22:00 November 20.
