The West Corridor is situated in west Shenzhen and north Hong Kong, linking Shenzhen's Shekou district and Hong Kong's Yuen Long. After inspecting the advanced security system and viewing the entire corridor, many of the consular group members expressed their enthusiasm and high expectations.
In an exchange lecture at Shenzhen University Town, Muhammad Iftikhar Anjum, Consul General of Pakistan in Guangzhou, expressed his hope "that cultural communication between the two countries could be made through student exchange."
He told the students at the lecture, "By far most exchange students choose Beijing and Shanghai. The consulate suggests that Pakistani students should consider universities in Guangdong Province, such as those in Shenzhen University Town. China and Pakistan have a strong friendship. I remember when the Pakistani athletic team appeared at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games – the Chinese audience applauded with great enthusiasm!"
