Pricey School Promises Well-heeled Dogs

An animal training school in Humen Township, Guangdong Province, is doing brisk business despite the high cost of its services.

The special school charges more than 10,000 yuan ($1,400) for a three-month training course for dogs. That is about what a local worker can expect to make in a year.

But staff at the training school say the program is worth the cost because after a dog completes the course, he can stand up and kiss his master. In addition to training, the animals are well looked after at the school.

The school has a training area of more than 1,500 sq m plus many animal dormitories.
