Ctrip.com, one of China's biggest on-line tourism operators, said on August 1 air tickets to Hong Kong, Macao and overseas countries will rise driven by fuel surcharge increase.
Ctrip.com also said that Hong Kong-based Dragonair will raise the fuel surcharge between the mainland and Hong Kong by 4 yuan per trip, starting today.
In the summer high season until late August air tickets price is pushed up by fuel subcharge and swelling demand of traveling teachers and students.
The price rises by about 10-20% for most flights to hot tourist destinations, especially to seashore cities.
There are no discounts for the flights to Northeastern China while it is difficult to buy an air ticket to Tibet as it is the best month to tour there now.
