Guangdong Volunteer Development Fund Established

Guangdong Volunteer Development Fund (GVDF) was officially established at the Zhudao Hotel in Guangzhou yesterday afternoon (June 19th).

RMB 30 million yuan (USD 39,370) which has already been raised will be used in project implementation, volunteer culture and principal promotion, research, and volunteer training and rewards, etc.

Ph. D. Zhong Nanshan, leader of China's anti-SARS campaign, was designated as the honorary Chairperson.

GVDF is also the first Volunteer Development Fund in China.

According to the secretary general of GVDF Jiang Wei, they plan to recruit experts for the project manager, financial manager, and other staff nationwide. All registered or experienced volunteers are welcome to join them.
