Guangdong Recognizes Efforts in Flood Relief

Guangdong CPC Committee and Guangdong Government held a meeting yesterday (Sep. 4) that commended a group of organizations and people who have played active and brave roles in the flood relief.

Secretary of Guangdong CPC Committee Zhang Dejiang, Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua and other government leaders attended the meeting. The meeting first praised Lin Jianqiang and three other martyrs who sacrificed their lives to help flood-hit victims. 181 organizations and 401 individuals were awarded certificates that acknowledge their bravery.

The typhoon season, which has battered Guangdong all summer, has affected over 10 million local residents and caused a direct economic loss of over 20 billion yuan.
