We've mobilized people on high alert of the possible disaster and make good preparation for anti-disaster campaign", said Zhang Dejiang, Secretary of Guangdong Provincial CPC committee.

"Today and tomorrow will see continuous rain that is not so heavy as that on the weekend. After tomorrow, there will be showers till the end of the week", forecasters said, "the amount of rainfall is normal for Guangdong at this time of the year".

Guangdong province has entered its rainy season, which lasts from April to Oct. A total of about 30-50 millimetres of rain is expected to fall in southern parts of Guangdong province over the next two days, according to chinadaily.
