The eastern Chinese city of Jinan recently saw its 72 springs spout water due to improved environment and rebounding underground water levels, Xinhua News Agency reports.
The Yueya Spring, the spring requiring the most water, resumed spouting recently after laying dormant for almost 700 days.
Experts say the re-filling of water in Jinan's springs is the result of ample rainfall over the region this summer.
Jinan, the capital of east China's Shandong province, has the nickname "City of Springs."
