More Int'l Condolences, Aid Offered to Sichuan

The international community continues to offer condolences and aid for China following the deadly earthquake that rocked the country's southwestern Sichuan province on May 12.

Equatorial Guinea's President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo sent a message of condolence to Chinese President Hu Jintao.

Chairman of the House of Representatives of Bosnia-Herzegovina Lozancic sent a condolatory message to Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress.

Nigerian Prime Minister Seyni Oumarou expressed his condolences in a message to Premier Wen Jiabao.

Yemeni Vice President Abdo Rabo Mansour Hadi sent a message of condolence to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Malta, Tonio Borg, sent a condolatory message to Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.

Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen visited the Chinese embassy in Ireland to mourn the quake victims.

Meanwhile, more countries have delivered relief aid to China:

The government of Equatorial Guinea has decided to offer 1 million U.S. dollars in aid.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has donated 120,000 yuan (about 17,341 U.S. dollars).

The first batch of 9-carriage relief materials provided by Kazakhstan has reached Ala Mountain Port of China.

The Dutch city of Rotterdam has donated 100,000 euros in cash to quake-hit regions.
