Swedish Side Praises Götheborg's Guangzhou Visit

The organizing committee of events for the ship Götheborg's visit to Guangzhou hosted a press conference on August 7. In the conference the Swedish Consul General in Guangzhou, Ulf Sormark, Götheborg Captain Peter Kaaling and Götheborg Information Officer Annika spoke to journalists.
Mr. Sormark said that the visit of the Swedish Royal Couple and the Götheborg to Guangzhou and the series of events staged were a huge success that not only had an impact on Guangzhou and China, but also produced an overwhelming response in Sweden.

The ship "Götheborg" being much expected and warmly welcomed when sailing close to the terminal dock in Huangpu, Guangzhou, GD in July.
The events were widely covered by the Swedish media, allowing Swedish people to develop a greater understanding of China and Guangzhou. Mr. Sormark stated that the Götheborg's visit to Guangzhou had greatly promoted economic and trade cooperation and exchange between Sweden and China.
Captain Kaaling said that, "The kindness and hospitality of each Chinese person and Guangzhou folk that I've met during my visit to Guangzhou have left me with a deep impression, completely matching the description of China and Chinese people in the book A Smiling Nation."
Ms. Annika told reporters that the Swedish side was extremely pleased and the Götheborg crew was very impressed with the enthusiasm of local people for the Götheborg and the orderly manner in which visitors boarded the ship.
