A tree-planting activity was held yesterday (Nov. 23rd) to promote the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and demonstrate local officials' will to hold a green and sustainable sports gathering. The event was attended by the secretary of Guangzhou's CPC committee Zhu Xiaodan and Guangzhou Mayor, Zhang Guangning as well as by officials from many Asian countries.

Held on Dafu Mountain in Panyu district, 2010 trees of more than 100 varieties have been planted over the 20,000 square-meter "Guangzhou Asian Games Forest." The area had been split into six sections each one with ornamental plants representative of an Asian region.
