10-meter-tall Peanut in Guangzhou's Zhujiang New Town

Updated Beijing Time

A massive "peanut" with a height of 10 meters and a diameter of 3.6 meters has been erected in Guangzhou's Zhujiang New Town.

The sculpture by famous artist Xu Gongfei is a comment on the extreme development in the area, as the newly-built CBD (Central Business District) sits on what was farmland only 20 years ago.
