Child Died under Car Wheel at Zebra Crossing

Yesterday afternoon at 2:15pm, in front of Jide Garden, near Tongde Wei, Guangzhou, an 8-year-old boy was run over by a cement mixer at a zebra crossing. Unfortunately, the driver didn’t notice the boy and drove a small distance, dragging the child under the wheel.

Family members of the poor child were deeply upset and stopped police from taking the child’s body away. The child’s father crept into the bottom of the cement mixer, and tightly held onto the iron bars inside for over ten minutes. The grandfather of the child, rushed to the middle of the road several times and tried to kill himself, but was stopped by police.

Traffic was held back for two hours on Xicha Road.
