Chinese Premier Wen Arrives in Guangzhou to Inspect Chunyun Today

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao came to the Guangzhou Railway Station to inspect Guangzhou's Chunyun (Spring Festival Traffic Peak) operation under great pressure this morning.

He walked into the crowds, gestured goodwill to and shook hands with the passengers at the station. The stranded people applauded for his surprising appearance.

He stayed there for about 4 hours starting from 8:30 am.

For the time being, about 800, 000 people are trapped in Guangzhou due to the northward intercity traffic cut.
