Sacred Heart Cathedral, a catholic church in southern China's Guangzhou city, has been reopened to public after two years' repair.

The Gothic cathedral in downtown Guangzhou was built in 1863.

As well as Sacred Heart, it is also called Stone-Chamber Catholic Church, since its walls and pillars are made of granite.

Guangzhou Government started thorough repair on the church in 2004, completing all work in December 2006.

The whole project cost nearly 20 million yuan (12.5 million US dollars).
