Great Ball of Flour Sets the Record

A humongous tangyuan, or dumpling made of glutinous rice flour served in soup, of more than 150 cm diameter was completed in a farm in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, on Thursday, reports Information Times.

The dumpling is being touted as the largest of its kind in the world.

The stuffing for the tangyuan included 56 ingredients. It will be free for tourists to view once cooked.

It took several chefs days to complete the dumpling.

Tangyuan is a typical snack in the southern regions during Yuanxiao, or Lantern Festival, which takes place on the 15th day of the first Chinese lunar month.
