AmCham HR Forum 2006

On October 16, 2006, some Lingnan MBA students, alumni and staff of Lingnan International MBA Center participated in the "Human Resource Integration Across Pearl River Delta" forum. The forum is the second in series of Amcham Conferences titled the "AmCham General Managers Forum" organized through the committee' s of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China. It focuses on the hottest issues and aims on share best practices in contemporary Human Resources Management in China. With the support of more than 160 participants from multinational and Chinese local companies, the forum successfully attracted corporate leaders, HR professionals and specialists, industry experts, government officials, professional HR consultants and experienced personnel executives from leading companies, among them are P&G, Wal-Mart, Citigroup, Amway, AIG, GE, Jabil, Lotus, Guangdong Development Bank, Tyco and other very prestigious companies.

The forum began with speeches by Robert Goldberg, Consul General of U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou, Harley Seyedin, President of American Chamber of Commerce of South China, and Xing Yi Bo, President of Guangzhou Association for Labor Studies. Then honored speakers gave their presentations and discussed the hottest HR issues with audiences. The topics covered the challenges corporate HR people face currently, such as HR integration from US to China, developing next generation of leaders, building high performance organizations in China, China challenges & solutions for linking strategy to HR, and managing Human Resource function in a huge geography.

Lingnan (University) College is the honored supporter of this forum, and helped to invite corporate HR professionals who have solid cooperation with Lingnan MBA program. CDC staff of Lingnan International Center also interacted with participants to explore cooperation opportunities on company recruitment and other aspects.
