The American International School of Guangzhou just hosted a talent show. Young expatriate children of over ten different nationalities and between the ages of 5 and 11 participated in the elementary talent show held on Nov. 8th and 9th. Many children showed off their skill at the piano, while others let the audience sway to the music of their violin. A couple of drummers livened the evening and some rocked the stage with Indian and Columbian music. A magic show, Tae Kwon Do and ballet were also included adding flavor to the show.
Ms. Shirley Dever, who is in her 5th year as the school's music teacher, said that the children had put in a lot of time and effort to bring out the best in each of them. She appreciated the support of her colleagues and thanked the parents for their part in making this event a great success. "This is a good platform for the children to build up their self confidence and feel validated in front of an appreciative audience. I am so proud of every one of them!” Ms. Shirley said of the show and children.
