a. Credentials and Qualifications (1)Applicants for the positions of professors must in principle have a Master degree or above (candidates who were born after 1963 are required to have a Doctorate degree) and have working experience on the correspondent position for at least five years; (2)those for associate professor must in principle have a Master degree or above (candidates born after 1963 are required to have a doctorate degree) plus working experience on the correspondent position for at least five years, and have passed national professional examination ; (3)those for lecturers must in principle have a Master degree and a lecturer title, or have a doctorate degree plus minimum two years of working experience as an assistant; (4)excellent candidates are not confined to these requirements. c. Publications (five years previous to the time of employment) (1)Applicants for the position of professors must have a. published 7 high-quality papers or above on the major academic journals in the discipline (of which not less than 5 must be signed as first author or correspondent author); or published 4 high-quality papers or above on the major academic journals in the discipline (of which not less than 3 must be signed as first author or correspondent author), and high-level works and textbooks for the major (independently completed, editor-in-chief or first author); b. presided over one research project of provincial level or above; or participated in a key project of provincial level or above, or two national research as a major partner; or presided over a sub-project under a key national project, a sub-project under a key provincial project; or third prize or above in teaching or research at provincial/ministry level. (2)Applicants for the position of associate professors must have a. published 5 high-quality papers or above on the major academic journals in the discipline (of which not less than 3 must be signed as first author or correspondent author); or published 3 high-quality papers or above on the major academic journals in the discipline (of which not less than 2 must be signed as first author or correspondent author), and high-level works and textbooks for the major (second author and above); b. presided over one research project of department level or above, or participated in one research project of ministry/province level or above as a major partner; or presided over one international cooperation project (for humanities and social science, the research fund is more than 50, 000 RMB, for science and engineering, medical science, the research fund is more than 200,000 RMB), or won third prize or above in teaching and research of province/ministry level. (3) Applicants for the position of lecturers must have published at least 2 papers on any academic journals in the discipline or works (second author or above).Those who have published academic papers on the most influential academic journals of the discipline, or whose research results have the most important impact, or have gained patents of great practical values are not limited to the conditions mentioned above for employment of the positions (but have to be confirmed and approved by the university). Benefits Package 1) Specially-engaged Professorship (1) An apartment (with 3 bedrooms and 2 sitting rooms) is provided with the housing subsidy and rental subject to the University’s regulations; or a taxable financial aid of 400,000 RMB is provided for the purchase of housing; (2) Corresponding research fund ranging from 500,000 to 2,000,000 RMB is provided in general (from 200,000 RMB to 500,000 RMB for those who work in humanities or social sciences). To meet the needs of discipline construction and the implementation of the “985 Project”, the research fund may be expanded after necessary appraisal if the appointee is undertaking an interdisciplinary research in a chosen field under construction; (3) An allowance of 50,000 RMB is provided for the appointee to get settled on campus (those who are provided with financial aid for housing are excluded).
