Yuexiu District New Library

Updated Beijing Time

The new Yuexiu District Library is located in Dongshan Kou, one of busiest areas in Guangzhou. 6 floors of the library will be open to the public with the first floor being a service center, exhibition hall and leisured reading room; the second floor a reading room for newspapers and magazines, electronic readings and there is also a special room for those who have visible barriers; the third floor is a kid's reading room.

The 10,000-square meter Yuexiu District Library will be open 6 days a week except Monday and more than 1000 seats will be offered to readers.

According to the director of the library, citizens can apply for a reading card with their ID card or Hukou (for young persons). With the reading card, which costs 10 yuan, you can read through the 6 floors of the building and get on line in the library for 1 hour for free.

Here you can enjoy coffee, chat on the Internet, and enjoy music and movies.

This is a new non-profit library. The new library was rebuilt in the former Dongshan District Government Building.
