China Telecom Corporation Limited (hereafter referred to as the Company) is the leading provider of wire-line telephone, data and Internet and leased line services in 20 Provinces/ Autonomous Regions and Municipalities in China. The service regions consist of Shanghai Municipality, Guangdong Province, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, Anhui Province, Fujian Province, Jiangxi Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Chongqing municipality, Sichuan Province, Hubei Province, Hunan Province, Yunnan Province, Hainan Province, Guizhou Province, Qinghai Province, Gansu Province, Shaanxi Province, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.




Service description 

The ADSL (asymmetrical digital subscriber line) means a transmission line using a twist pair copper wires (an ordinary telephone line) that accesses to the Internet network with asymmetrical transmission rates in the uplink and downlink respectively, in the uplink (from user to the network) is a low rate that is only 1Mbit/s and in the downlink (from network to user) is a high rate that can reach 8Mbit/s. For the access, there are two methods for the time being, which are the "virtual dial-up" and the "private line".


 

ChinaVnet

In order to promote the development of the internet business and especially enrich contents for application in the Internet network, CHINA TELECOM has put forth a ChinaVnet Program that aims to fully utilize the network and subscriber resources of CHINA TELECOM for creating a benign environment of the Internet business development and actively pushing forward sustained development of the Internet indestry chain. The program also aims to create a new commercial mode for the Internet service, i.e. through the gathering of the contents and their applications from the ICPS, to provide the Internet custormers with a rich and colorful infomation sevices and then to realize a win-win effectiveness for customers, ICPs and CHINA TELECOM.


D-net

"D-net" service is based on the dial-up Internet Access service. ICPs that have cooperation with us provide dedicated value-added services for our customers, realizing the bundling of dial-up access with on-line value-added services. China Telecom will provide the nationally unified access number "16366" for such service and assign the authentication ID and passwords severally. The subscribers of "16366" access service will have access to the membership service or other services that requires additional charges. No other extra fees such as information service fee and membership fee will be charged to the subscribers. Moreover, subscribers can also benefit from accumulated usage for more privileged services.
