Q:
I am a regular traveller to Guangzhou, I just like to know is homosexuality illegal in Guangzhou? Will you be caught for having hoomosexual acts? As far as I know, homosexuality is no longer recognised as a form of illness in China.

Also is it illegal to open bath houses for gay activities in Guangzhou, as there are a lot of them operating in Beijing, Shanghai amd Shenzhen?

A:
Regarding your queries, Homosexuality is not illegal under Chinese law and thus people will not be caught for having homosexual acts in China. It is not illegal under Chinese law to open bath houses for gay activities except those violate Chinese law such as prostitution. Nevertheless, to open bath houses in Guangzhou, you have to apply to the local PSB for a special aproval as a condition preliminary to the application to the local AIC for business licence.
