China Hotel Receives "Diamond Five Star Hotel" Award

After being awarded twelve gold prizes in the Second China Hotel Service Skill Competition, for the thirteenth time since 1996, China Hotel, A Marriott Hotel, has received the "Diamond Five Star Hotel" award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. This prize is one of the most lauded and prestigious prizes in the international hospitality industry.

With its highly respected reputation and history dating back to 1989, the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences was developed from the International Hospitality Industry Judgment Bureau. The members of the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences come from world renowned five-star hotels and Fortune 500 corporations, such as the Boeing Company and Proctor & Gamble, as well as senior executives from hotels which have previously received the "Diamond Five Star Hotel" Award.

The academy members travel all over the globe due to their professional career requirements, requiring them to frequently stay in hotels. In assessing a hotel for the award, its environment, facilities, and food, are among the top items of consideration. Also of high importance in the judging is a hotels' level of guest service and cleanliness. Each year, member judges submit candidate hotel names to the Academy for consideration. Hotels submitted are among the top in their class, since Academy members stay in the hotel themselves and individually experience whether high-grade service and attention to guests is maintained year round. From the selected group of nominated candidates, the hotel deemed most worthy is selected to receive the coveted "Diamond Five Star Hotel" award. Nonscheduled inspections are a unique characteristic of American Academy of Hospitality Sciences judging process, which insures that the winning entries have maintained a consistent supreme level of quality and service, which is unmatched on a worldwide basis. With judging guidelines based on principles of equity, impartiality and rationality, the strength and worthiness of the awarded enterprises are unquestionable.
