Renwei Temple in Bantang Area in western Guangzhou is about 1,000 years old, dating back to China's Song Dynasty. The traditional Beidi's (North Emperor) Birth Bazaar has been held here on March 3 of Chinese Lunar calendar (around the turn of March and April) for centuries.

The annual public fair and gala features charity rice distribution, prayer, lion dance, parade, and basin food dinner.
