After a full renovation and redecoration, the house has reopened and displays original furniture, old photos and big dusty books, all there to present and commemorate the life and work of the famous Chinese historian.
Located at the conjunction of Zhongshan 7 Road and Renmin Road, the Ximen Wengcheng is the only remaining city gate from the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644).
Established in 1685 and one of the earliest customs offices in China, the site of the Canton Customs building is a protected national level cultural relic.
