Guangzhou's First Beach Resort Opens This Month

Updated Beijing Time

A brand new beach resort will open in the middle of the month in Nansha district. According to a Guangzhou Daily report, this venue will be the first of its kind in Guangzhou.

The “Nansha Seashore Beach” is located at the foot of Dajiao Mountain in eastern Nansha. This newly developed w-shape beach and the nearby Matsu Temple (more info) are expected to become one of Guangzhou's top weekend destinations.

Tropical plants were planted in abundance along the causeway, creating a 550m long and 4m wide natural corridor, with 147 king coconut trees and 72 normal coconut trees.

According to an official in charge of the project, around 10 million RMB (1.46 million USD) was invested into building the resort, which includes a 550m-long net to protect swimmers from an eventual shark and 5 lifeguard stations.

Opening hours: 8:30am - 7pm

Admission: 20 RMB (adult); children below 1.1m free of charge

How to get there: Metro line 4 to Jinzhou Station, then take a bus to Matsu Temple
