Wanmu Orchid & Yingzhou Ecological Park

 

 

 

Yingzhou Ecological Park lies in Xiaozhou Village, Xinjiao Town, in southeast of Haizhu District. Xiaozhou village (little oasis) was formed in Yuan Dynasty, because the village looks like an oasis in the sea with its rich field and crossing rivers. It is also named “Yingzhou”. The ancient bridge, house and floating boats constitute a unique and simple watery region with a taste of “Little bridge over the stream, by which lie the houses” in the south of Yangtze River.

 

 

 

It is the largest agricultural ecological park in Guangzhou, covering 142 hectares, which is praised as the “south lung lobe” of Guangzhou. There are more than 50,000 fruit trees and Lingnan fruits like Shixia longan, red carambola, heart-shaped wampee, lichee, guava and pawpaw in the park.

 

 

There are activities like sight seeing, tea tasting, fruit picking, freeing captive animals, fishing Pengqi (a kind of crab), as well as barbeque and archaized games. The crossing rivers, fruit scent, twist woods, bridges and streams make it an ideal place for sightseeing, leisure, investigation and scientific research and education.
