Liwan Lake

荔湾湖

Updated Beijing Time

The scenic manmade lake is an oasis nestled in the Xiguan old town, named after the Liwan District. At the water there are some nice traditional Cantonese landscaped gardens, which are well mixed with the lake view.

There used to be river web and robust Lichee trees in the area scores of years ago. "Liwan" means "bay with Lichee trees" in Chinese.
