Located 93km away from Guangzhou in Conghua city sprawls the Liuxihe National Forest Park – one of the top ten National Forest Parks of China.
819 types of angiosperm can be found in the park, as well as over 100 rare and protected national plants. In addition, some 20 or more ‘first’ and ‘second grade’ protected animals inhabit the forest.
From December until next January, plum trees will be in full blossom across the mountains along the Liuxi River. It is the largest festival held at the park, attracting thousands of visitors every year.
Food: Popular dishes include river fish, mountain water bean curd, spiral shells (like snails), etc. The ‘fish head’ and ‘mountain water porridge’ are also famous.
Transportation: Take the Guangzhou-Conghua Expressway for about 1.5 hours from Guangzhou.
