Kapok is a kind of tropical tree found across Guangzhou and known to Chinese people as “Cotton Tree” (Mumian). People in Guangzhou have long grown Kapok trees, using its cotton to make clothes and its flowers as medicine.
Recently, for the pleasure of visitors, a great number of flowers, including Azaleas have started to bloom in Martyrs' Park, a definite sign spring is on the way.
You can find this as you walk along the path from the Jicui Pavilion towards the Liuchun Pavilion. The Baishi Valley Park is famous for its tranquil and luscious green landscape and has been visited by many the People's Republic of China's leaders.
Hezhizhou Park is the largest wetland park in eastern Guangzhou. Near the Yanta Bridge in Zengcheng city, construction began at the beginning of this year. The first phase of its development has been completed and the park is open to the public.
