Luxury Supermarket Unveiled

Updated Beijing Time

"TASTE," a luxury supermarket run by "Parkn Shop," opened in China Plaza, Guangzhou.

The supermarket is "TASTE's" first branch in Chinese mainland. "High quality" is its selling point and it offers 17,000 different goods, including 5,000 imported fresh vegetables and meat products from over 40 countries like the US, Japan, France, Italy and Southeast Asia.

But quality comes with a very high price although some might say an excessive price. In the market, apples are sold 160RMB per apple, a pumpkin goes for 1,888RMB and for a whole fruit basket you'll have to part with 12,998 RMB. Conscious they need a diversified consumer base, a few products are sold for a more reasonable price: cherries, for exemple, are sold for 39.8 Yuan for half a kilogram.
